WELCOME TO SESAME STREET!The Children's Television Workshop are planning to take over the world by sending subliminal messages to children through their television show. It's your job to make your way through sesame street and gather clues. Each character will provide you with a word of the message being used to control the children. When you have collected them all, you need to rearrange the letters to produce a new message to be broadcast, so the producers won't know the difference. To start you off, todays show is brought to you by the letter 'A'.
When the Venturers first arrived at the stunt, the team leader handed in their passport, and were given the above laminated sheet to read to the rest of their team. This gave them the first word of the message, 'A'. The activities below could be done in any order.
Bert and Ernie are having a bath. They've left clues on the bottom of some of Ernie's rubber duckies. Climb onto the cargo net and fish the rubber duckies out of the bath. Once you've got all the letters arrange them to make a word of the message. When the ducks were correctly arranged, this made the word 'LAUNCH'. A special thanks to MarbleTrend for lending us their 'eskies' for the weekend. We had problems making the ducks float upright, as the hooks we drilled into them threw their balance off.

Oscar the Grouch has misplaced his clue in all his garbage bins. You'll have to take turns to fish around in the bins to find the letters. Once you've got all the letters arrange them to make a word of the message. Here the Venturers got their hands dirty searching through Oscar's bins looking for Perspex letters. What they didn't know was that in the bins was flour and water, spaghetti, rice and oatmeal. The two bins that had sticks and leaves in them were very popular, but didn't contain any letters. This made the word 'OBEY'.
Sifting through bins
Cookie Monster accidentally put his clue into his last batch of cookies. Each team member needs to make their way across the cookies collecting a letter along the way. Once you've got all the letters arrange them to make a word of the message. Here the venturers picked up a letter from each of the cookies as they crossed the tyres. This spelt the word 'BATTLE'. It also made 'TABLET' and 'ABLETT', but they weren't the correct word.

Now that you have found all the words, you need to rearrange the letters to produce a new message to be broadcast by Elmo. Don't forget to tickle him on the way out! _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Here the Venturers re-arranged the letters from the phrase 'OBEY, LAUNCH A BATTLE' to a nicer message. The new message was 'BE ALL THAT YOU CAN BE'. Lots of teams needed a hint for this. Their first guesses were almost always 'AT THE', and the phrase doesn't contain either of these words.
